Our Hiring Options
Temporary – Employees remain on A-Star’s payroll for a given assignment that could last from a few days to many months.
Temp-to-Hire – Our most popular option. Gives the client a chance to see if the candidate is a good fit before a final hiring decision is made. The employee remains on A-Star’s payroll for a given period of time, usually 520 work hours, then converts to the client’s payroll at no charge.
Both Temporary and Temp-to-Hire options are billed on an hourly basis. A-Star pays payroll taxes and premiums related to workers compensation insurance. No hidden charges.
Direct Hire – The employee is hired by the client without going through a trial period. Sometimes this is a better option when an exceptional organizational ‘fit’ is identified. We charge a flat fee of 15% of the employee’s first year annual salary.
Our Screening & Selection Process
We don’t just say it, we actually screen our candidates. All candidates are required to accept our hiring standards, meet with us in person, provide at least two work related references (and yes, we actually contact them!). We run background checks and drug screens when requested by the client. We offer skill assessments and software training at no charge to the client. Hundreds of assessment titles are available.
